Hyderabad's traffic.

Today,i was thinking about the poor traffic sense of the commuters in our city and was trying to find a solution to this ever existing problem.
I came through this blog http://trafficinhyderabad.blogspot.com/ which has done a lot of work in this regard already and has been working for more than an year. Congratulations to sameer on this great effort.I guess i will have a different post about his blog sometime later.
What is pretty evident is there are people putting in their efforts to deal with this problem. But the scenario doesnt seem to have changed much.I think we have to change our approach of arriving to a solution to this problem.
We have to deal with one problem at a time. i.e we have to deal with one type of user's at time rather than trying to bring a change in all the commuter's. Let's say we pick up a category of user's for example cab drivers. we can adopt various methods to make sure that these guys follow the rules. What i am trying to tell here is when we can not create awareness in people voluntarily we have to impose it.once the rules are imposed on one particular user, it finds its way into others as well.

So we have to form a group or network, since most of the people travelling in cabs are either IT or BPO employees it is easy to approach all these guys using a facebook group or a google group http://groups.google.com/group/trafficinhyderabad?hl=en. Then we make sure that we ensure that the cab driver's follow the rules. And how do we ensure that? ya we have ways to do that, sometimes we might have to take steps like complaining and other ways, neverthless what we want can be achived.

So once we manage to bring about change in one community of users, we can use media to propage the initiative and i see a light of change here..This might work.
